The Internet of Things and its impact on the future of food safety
Predictions for a future dominated by the Internet of Things (IoT) and digital technologies can seem more like fantasy than reality. In this session, we separate the facts from the fiction and explain exactly what IoT means for the food industry.
We open with a must-see presentation from Internet giants Google, who share their vision for a world transformed by digital technologies and IoT. Google will also shed light on what food safety professionals can already learn from successes and failures in other industries.
Building on this unique insight, Rentokil Initial will discuss new research by Quocirca that looks at the food industry’s specific readiness to exploit the full potential of IoT and improve food safety practice.
Rentokil Initial will focus on the challenges and the realistic possibilities. Above all, it will set out how the industry can fully leverage the potential of technology to improve world-wide collaboration on safety and manage risk and compliance more effectively.
There’s no doubt, the Internet of Things will be the key enabler for innovation-led solutions that open up fantastic opportunities for a new level of safety and incident prevention in the food industry.
Ask yourself – how far could you improve food safety performance if your production facility could tell you it is contaminated, or if you could know risk of pest infestation is imminent because you can track the weather?
A global team of Rentokil Initial experts will present our Special Session, joined by Mike Truty from Google:
