The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) hosted its global conference successfully in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 3–5 March 2015, with the theme of Food Safety: A Shared Responsibility. It was the first time that GFSI held a conference in Asia.
The conference brought together over 900 leading food safety specialists from over 50 countries to discuss global food safety issues and solutions. It emphasised the truly global nature of the food supply chain and fostered collaborative opportunities in food safety management.
As the world’s leading business service provider, Rentokil Initial was invited to be one of the key sponsors of the conference. Tony Poulsen, Rentokil Initial's Regional MD & Head of Operations & SHE, Asia, shared the welcome speech on Joint responsibility of risk management in the supply chain.
The Rentokil Initial team joined the conference and networked with stakeholders in the food safety industry. They delivered the message that Rentokil Initial always partners with industry in supply chain management with our advanced industry business service experience.
Rentokil Initial will continue to actively participate in GFSI events. We believe, food safety is a noncompetitive issue. When it comes to food safety, we should work together as a society. Consumer trust is linked with food safety; to improve, it requires the whole industry to work together as a food safety community.
